We are a reality-based personal preservation academy in Alajuela, Costa Rica specializing in Filipino martial arts, close quarters combat, grappling for the street, weapons & weapons defence and internal martial arts. We have a western and Filipino approach to teaching-relaxed, circular distribution of knowledge and a progressive learning curve.  We teach function over form and give you what you need in a world where worry over safety and personal security is increasingly paramount. Far from your stereotypical martial arts club, we care not for rankings, politics or idol worship-only about your safety.

  We cover not just the physical but the mental, behavioural and situational areas of personal defence, violence avoidance and de-escalation. If you want to feel safer in the modern world, look no further..we are for you, the civilian. While they are more than welcome, you don't need to be military, law enforcement or security personnel to reap the benefits of keeping yourself and your family safe. It's the problem of us all and is as much a life skill as swimming or defensive driving.
